The City Manager provides professional leadership in the administration of the policies, goals and vision set by the Dallas City Council. The City Manager and his staff develop and administer cost-effective and innovative ways to implement the prescribed goals of the City.
As liaison for the City and Council members, the City Manager communicates with other members of the community and public agencies to build effective working relationships.
The City Manager coordinates and directs all city operations, supervises Department Directors, serves as the Budget Officer, oversees capital improvements, and ensures equitable enforcement of the city’s ordinances.
The City Council appoints the City Manager, who serves at the pleasure of the City Council.
