The City of Dallas has three employee associations:
The Dallas Police Employees Association, consisting of all full-time sworn Police Officers of the Dallas Police Department, except for the positions of Chief of Police, Lieutenants, Sergeants, and other managerial, confidential, temporary, casual, or seasonal members. Polk County Professional Fire Fighters Association (International Association of Firefighters Local 4196) consists of all regular, full-time Emergency Medical Technicians, currently classified as Paramedics (the "Paramedic Unit") and the strike-prohibited, sub-bargaining unit composed of Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians, Firefighter/Paramedics, and Fire & EM Captains (the "FF/EMT Unit"), employed by the City of Dallas, excluding supervisors, confidential employees, and any temporary or casual employees. American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Council 75, Local 173-3 consists of all regular (non-temporary or seasonal) full time employees of the City, excluding confidential and supervisory employees as defined under ORS 243.650 and employees represented by other labor organizations and employees in the Fire/EMS Department.
