Donations & Contributions

We want your donations of gently used materials. Donated materials are either added to the library collection or sold at the Friends of the Dallas Public Library book sale.  Your donated DVDs, CDs, books and other materials enhance the lives of many others in your community.  Donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.  Simply drop off your donations during open library hours and request a receipt.

We also accept monetary donations. Cash donations are used for capital improvements, events, and other library needs.
 

Oregon Cultural Trust

When making end of the year philanthropic donations, please remember the Oregon Cultural Trust.  A donation to any of its list of affiliates (Dallas Public Library is one) qualifies for a tax deduction.  An equal amount donated to the Oregon Cultural Trust is a tax credit. A win-win! Donors to the trust are eligible for a 100% Oregon income tax credit for contributions up to $500 for individuals, or $1000. for couples filing jointly.  To motivate Oregonians to increase direct giving to cultural groups, Trust donors must make matching gifts to one or more of nearly 1,300 cultural non-profits in order to qualify for the credit. No other state provides a 100 percent tax credit to inspire cultural giving.
 
Since its inception in 2002, more than 21,000 donors have contributed over $25 million to the Trust.  Look for a list of cultural non-profits at Oregon Cultural Trust.
