The Friends of the Dallas Public Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group of citizens who perceive the library as essential to the cultural and intellectual well being of the city and who, therefore, consider the preservation and advancement of its use to be important to the community. The purpose of the Friends of the Dallas Public Library is to:
Act as ambassadors to the community promoting services available at the Dallas Public Library
Promote the greatest possible use of the Dallas Public Library by the Dallas community
Sponsor and stimulate volunteer service for the Dallas Public Library
Sponsor special programs and events at the Dallas Public Library
Stimulate increased financial support, public and private, for the Dallas Public Library
