Duties & Responsibilities

The Historic Preservation Commission consists of five (5) members and makes recommendations to the City Council and Planning Commission regarding matters of historic preservation. 

The commission meets no less than four times per year, or as needed, on the second Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. 

Members of this commission are recommended by the Mayor and appointed by the City Council. The commission also is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Historic Resource Survey. The agendas are generally available a week prior to the next meeting. All public meetings are audio recorded. You can access current and past agendas and minutes using this link.

Historic Preservation Commission Members

The commission is currently looking for new volunteers with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the fields of preservation, architecture, archeology, community history, building trades, real estate, or related specialties. Please fill out our Citizen Committee Interest Form and email it to recorder@dallasor.gov to volunteer.
