City Council Standing Committees

Public Safety Committee

• Considers all matters relating to public health and safety, the police department, ambulance service, and the fire department that are referred to it by the mayor, council, or the city manager.

Public Works Committee

• Considers all matters relating to streets, sewers, alleys, sidewalks, public ways, and water that are referred to it by the mayor, council, or the city manager.

Public Administration Committee

• Consider all matters relating to the administration of city business, budgetary matters, and fiscal affairs that are referred to it by the mayor, council, or the city manager. 

Building and Grounds Committee

• Consider all matters relating to public buildings, parks, the public library, and public grounds that are referred to it by the mayor, council, or the city manager.
