Building Permits: Homeowners
The City of Dallas Building Division staff is here to help property owners determine if a permit is required, and to help them through the entire permit process. The City utilizes the State of Oregon ePermitting program to pull permits, upload plans and documents, pay for permits, track permit progress, and schedule inspections.
How to purchase an online permit through ePermitting as a Homeowner (Note: Paper applications are not provided.)
The City requires Permits to be pulled by either the property owners or their licensed contractor:
- Dwelling Permit-DWL (New Single Family Residence-SFR, Duplex, Accessory Dwelling Unit-ADU)
- Structural Building Permit-STR (Remodel, Alterations, Repairs, etc.)
- Mechanical Permit-MECH
- Plumbing Permit-PLM (Including Backflow Devices)
- Manufactured Home Placement Permit (MFD)
Electrical Permits are handled through Polk County Community Development at 503.623.9237.
Information Notice to Owners about Construction Responsibilities must be submitted if a property owner is doing their own work.
