The City of Dallas is committed to fostering a positive business environment and to helping new business move to Dallas and current businesses expand. The City of Dallas has prioritized improving communication between the City and business community so that businesses are aware of every available opportunity to improve their business and support their employees. The City has worked to create the Dallas Business Inventory (DBI) in order to better interact with the business community.

The DBI is a free, secure, and optional way for Dallas businesses to hear directly from the city on important funding, educational, and promotional opportunities, as well as important building code and public safety updates. This data is secure, and will not be sold to a third party or used for marketing purposes. This is a list for official city uses only.

The DBI is a resource that all businesses, regardless of size or location, should utilize to make sure they are maximizing their opportunities here in Dallas.

In addition to these efforts, the City of Dallas is beginning to make routine efforts to meet with local businesses and hear about their needs and how the City can best help them succeed. These visits will begin in August of 2024.
