The City of Dallas is focused on protecting the health of every household in our community.
The City of Dallas is reviewing service line materials throughout the water system to ensure continued water quality and safety. We have not identified the material connecting your home to the meter, therefore the service line material is unknown, which means it’s possible that some portion could contain lead or galvanized pipe that was once connected to lead.
Although homes with these types of pipes may have a higher risk of exposure to lead, we have not found any lead service lines in our system so far and do not expect to discover any. This work is part of our proactive efforts to protect your drinking water.
